When you think what a true friend is, do you really think about the most important things?

Do you realize that in today's often hard and difficult world, sometimes the only thing we ever have to fall back on are our friends? They can be there to give you strength when you feel you have no where to turn. They are rocks on which we lean when we feel we can't stand on our own. They are there to stick up for you when you need help or there to catch you when you fall. They are there to provide love and support when your heart aches for whatever reason. To understand how you feel sometimes when people like parents or girlfriends/boyfriends just don't catch on to the way you are feeling. A true friend should be able to listen to you and be truthful about their opinions when they try to help. That is what true friends are really for..... |

If anyone has ever heard the story of how geese live together, they should understand how true friends stick together. "A flock of geese were flying south for the winter in a V-Formation, when one of the geese fell injured. Of this large flock, a group of geese left the formation to be at the fallen goose's side. They stayed with this injured goose until he either died, or could become well enough to fly again. This fallen goose eventually was well enough to fly once again, and with the smaller group who accompanied him, they all left together to resume their journey to the South to join the others. If geese can do this so selflessly as birds, why can't we as humans always do the same? This is what dedication and honor is all about, This is what community, what Friendship is.... |
| To know you have 1, 2, 3 or even 11 more shoulders to lean or cry on, to know you have 11 other people to laugh with, to know you have 11 more people who think about you, to know you have 11 more hearts to beat for you to make you stronger is motivation enough to get the best out of life and thrive to do your best to live it with the support of others....This is what friends can do for you... |

When we say to get the most out of life, usually what we refer to is just having pure fun. To have the kind of people in your life that you can laugh and carry on with....the kind you can enjoy doing just about anything with are your friends. Going out to party, playing sports, or even just a regular day on a sunny summer day where there is nothing more to do than just relax, barbeque and mess around in the pool. Forget about the complexities of life and just purely enjoy the moment for what it is. Friends do this..... |

When you think of what you consider a true friend to be.....what sticks out most in your mind? Is it the way this person always helps you when you need him? Is it the way this person would give you a moment of his time whenever you ask him for it? Is it how he goes out of his way to make you laugh whether it be out of the blue or because you are down? Is it because he has always been a rock both physically and emotionally to look up to? Is it because he works hard at everything he does and takes pride in being the best friend he can possibly be? Is it because he takes time out to make sure there is a balance between a family, a job, a girlfriend and of course his friends? Is it because you know that whatever you do for him whether the favor is big or small......YOU KNOW he is thinking of you because there is no question he'd return the favor if you needed it? Does any of this sound familiar to you? Do these examples remind you of any of your true friends or how you would wish your friend could be like? Is this a true friend.....? |

To me, one
of the biggest reasons I have the best friends in the world, is
because of friends like Warren Poirier. Everything example set or
reason mentioned above mirrors some point in his life or our friendship
with Warren as a group. His ability to make us all laugh, his huge heart,
his strong physical presence or even just him always lending a helping
hand whenever needed are the most defining qualities of him. People
in this world like Warren should far outweigh the number of those who are
negative, but at times cannot. With the heaviest of hearts and
greatest sorrow I regret to say that after a long week of fighting and
hanging on, the evening of November 24th.....with all his family and
friends at his side....Warren left us. The battle he fought so
tirelessly was eventually decided in God's hands. He was one of the most
courageous and strong people I have ever known and he will be terribly
missed.

Since this site has gone up, there has been so many prayers, so much support, so much concern and ultimately, so much togetherness. Through all the laughter, the pain and the sorrow, Warren's family and friends have thrived on the support given by all of you. In doing this, you are all helping to not only ease the pain of the loss, but also showing yourselves and everyone around you what it means to be a true friend. I speak on behalf of everyone who was close to Warren during his life in saying to NOT hesitate in telling those you care for most how you feel. If you feel down, read some of the touching messages left by hundreds of people showing that they care. It has been truly therapeutic to us all and can also be for someone else who may hurt. With Warren now up in heaven, we have another Angel at God's side we can pray to. Care and compassion were also one of Warren's many qualities and you should all be proud of yourselves for being able to do for Warren's family and friends......what he has always done for us. Something that will surely never be forgotten.

In life, we have
lost one of the most beautiful, caring, strong and and influential
people I have ever known. Warren thrived to be the best at everything he
did in life. Whether it be as a son, a brother, a friend, a boyfriend or
even with his electrical apprenticeship....he never settled for being
second best. In spirit, we have gained one more angel to
watch down on us and guide us along the rocky road of life, which can have
some very hard turns. Warren also knew this but just like the rest of us,
took life in stride and tried his best to enjoy it. He had a very long
and fulfilling 21 years with us and as terrible as this loss is, we will
all remain together to remember him in all his good times, love him and
carry on in life in his footsteps...ones which will be hard to fill. This
site, which was intended as a motivator for him, must now become a
dedication and rightfully so. God Bless you Warren, we will forever
love and miss you......
